WOW!!! What a summer!
I am ready for some thunder storms and cooler weather. Gerry has to go to a class in Alabama for six weeks, so Jailynn, Grant and I will be in Arkansas. I thought it would be way more fun to go there than to stay in Arizona. I am so excited and ready. Thankfully Laura is letting us stay with her and Garon. Thank you both so much!!! I hope that I can just remember to take the camera with us. We will be driving, so that is the one thing that I am not totally looking forward to. That will be eighteen hours in the car with a 2 year old and 7 month old. We will be stopping to see Aunt Sharon and then hopefully one other stop.
We still do not know where we will go or when as far as Gerry staying in the Air Force. He will be celebrating 20 years in active duty on Jailynns birthday. He will also be in a class....boring!!!! The kids and I love him though. Jailynn asks me all the time "where's daddy?" I then have to tell her that he is at work and will be home later. She likes to walk to the mail boxes so that she can get in his car and ride home with him. She is so cute, but at the same time she can be such a stinker.....I think that is any two year old though.

Our kiddos are growing so fast. We took a weekend trip tp San Diego. Jailynn loved the beach. She would go in the water and when a wave was coming, race it to shore. It was so cute to watch her. She is talking so much now.
Grant wasn't too sure about things though. The weather was awesome though. Being able to walk outside without sweating was amazing!!!

Summer is here and where have I been? Time just seems to fly by. We recently spent a week in Arkansas. It was fun to seen so much family around. Jailynn loves Nana and Papa. She really like their pool and hot tub!! Grant liked it too.
Gerry has decided to stay in the Air Force for now. We will see where it takes us next. He is working so hard and doing a great job being a dad. I love it when I get to do something for myself after being with the kiddos so much! Everything is going well though. As soon as I take some updated pictures, I will put the up.
Jailynn is about 21 months now and Grant is about 5. He is a chunk compared to Jailynn. He weighs around 15 pounds and she weighs around 22-23. They are both growing so fast. Jailynn is talking a lot more and tries to repeat me. It is so cute!

I know I am so bad at keeping this updated. I haven't pasted in over a month. Having two kids will keep you busy though. Grant is two months now. He smiles all the time. Jailynn is 18 months and full of life. She has to tell everyone good night before she will go to bed at night, including Grant. I need to take some good pictures of them together. One of these days. They both have a check up this week. Jailynn has gone a week without having to go to the doctor for an illness. I wish I knew where she keeps getting sick from. She has never had this many illnesses.
My parents came a couple weekends ago and Gerry blessed Grant at church. It is so amazing to see someone change as much much as Gerry has since I met him. I don't tell him often enough, but I am so proud of him and everything that he does. I sometimes forget that wives are supposed to be submissive and I get frustrated about different things. Hopefully he just looks past that. He is planning on retirement this year. It is a little scary to think about though. We know that we will more than likely move to Fort Smith, AR and get settled there for a long time I hope.

Grant is a poser. He is always posing when he sleeps. We have an appointment to get pictures taken on the 11th. I am so excited. Jailynn got rid of her fever and seems to be feeling better today. Grant is still coughing here and there, but seems to be much better. I hope we are done with sickness around here! I will try to remember to take more pictures and put them on here. Thanks to everyone for thinking of us!

We are home from the hospital and hope to stay that way for a little while at least. Grant is doing much better. Jailynn on the other hand is not feeling so good. She was on medicine and finished it. Now she is running a fever and has a runny nose again. I will have to take her back to the doc and see what the deal is. I hope that she feels better soon. She has been sick for about 3 weeks now.
Thank you for all of your prayers and thougts while Grant was sick. It was a little scary have a baby so small so sick!!

So here are some pictures that we all had taken at Christmas. We were all together and it was amazing! I love my family so much! I can't wait to be closer to them.

Now we just have to take some with Grant.

I have been really bad at postings lately. I guess I have been a little busy. Both kiddos are doing good. Jailynn has been sick this last week. Grant is just eating tons and sleeping. They keep Gerry and I busy day and night. I am hoping to take some pics this week and post them.

One week home

Grant has made it a week being at home. He is so good. He only fuses when he is hungry. He looks around and when you talk he will turn his head. Here are some pictures we have taken over the last week.

Jailynn is warming up to him and when you ask where is Grant, she will point to him. Hopefully we will keep taking pictures.

Introducing Grant Alan Olds

This was the first time that I got to see him other than for a quick sec right when he was born. I had to wait a day and a half!
The nurses that gave him a bath spiked his hair. It was cute.

Here he is today....snoozing away. I think he likes being at home. He is eating much more and seems to be relaxed.
I am so glad that we are home now. I think that Jailynn is too. She still won't touch him, but she will wave to him and say hi. She looks so big next to him. She is about 20 to 25 pounds and Grant is just under 6 pounds. It is funny to think that Jailynn was that small when she was born too. Rusty is just here. He doesn't really care about too much as long as he is getting fed.
Thank you to Brenda, Leslea and Lauren for all your help this week with Jailynn!
Thank you to all those that have brought meals and will be bringing them. It is greatly appreciated! We are so lucky to have made such good friends here in Phoenix!

Well Grant was born Jan. 20, 2009. He had to stay in hospital for a few extra days. That is why I haven't posted any pictures yet. I plan on doing that tomorrow. As for now, everything is good. No more sleepness nights nights driving between home and the hospital. I am feeling pretty good and Jailynn is doing good with him. Gerry is tired I am sure but he won't admit it. Be looking for those pictures to come though.

Sunday, January 4, 2009

I have been so bad at keeping up with this the last month or so. I also didn't take pictures on the camera at Christmas. We took some on our phones though. Jailynn and I spent most of December in Arkansas and then Gerry joined us. We did get some family photos and when I get them I will post some. All of my siblings were there which hasn't happened in a few years. We had a good time and Jailynn loves Nana and Papa. She also loved their hot tub. We knew that she would though. It was cooler there, but not too bad. There wasn't any snow or ice while we were there. We made it back to Phoenix on the 27th. Since then we have been getting for the baby to arrive. Jailynn is now sleeping in a queen size bed and the crib has been moved to a different room. She seems to like the fact that when she wakes up she can just get up and move around the house. We will see how it goes when the baby gets here though. She likes to come in and make sure that we are getting up as well.
